Foam Fire Suppression

When flammable liquids ignite, foam forms the first line of defense.

In environments with flammable liquids, traditional fire suppression may not suffice. Foam Fire Suppression Systems create a blanket that cools the fire and cuts off oxygen supply, effectively preventing re-ignition.

At Sai Associates, we design and install advanced foam suppression systems that offer rapid response and reliable protection for industrial applications.

How It Works

Foam suppression systems mix foam concentrate with water and air to form a foam blanket. This foam is discharged over the fire, cooling the surface and separating the fuel from oxygen — smothering flames and preventing re-ignition.

Types of Foam Systems

  • Low Expansion Foam Systems: Up to 20:1 ratio, ideal for open areas with flammable liquid hazards.
  • Medium Expansion Foam Systems: 20:1 to 200:1 ratio, best for semi-enclosed spaces like loading bays.
  • High Expansion Foam Systems: Over 200:1 ratio, designed for enclosed areas like hangars and warehouses.

Key Components & Applications

  • Foam Concentrate Storage Tanks: Store the foam before mixing.
  • Proportioning Devices: Ensure proper mixing of water and concentrate.
  • Discharge Devices: Foam chambers, pourers, and nozzles for delivery.
  • Bladder Tanks: Used for automatic storage and mixing.
  • Applications: Oil & Gas Facilities, Chemical Plants, Aircraft Hangars, Warehouses.
